Você conhece o índice Big Mac? ??
O Índice Big Mac, oficialmente Big Mac Index, é um índice calculado sobre o preço do Big Mac, da cadeia de fast food McDonald's, em mais de cem países. Ele foi criado em 1986 pelo The Economist para explicar um conceito econômico chamado Paridade de Poder de Compra.
Pelo conceito de Paridade de Poder de Compra, a longo prazo o mercado de câmbio deveria se ajustar para que o valor de um dólar fosse equivalente em qualquer país. O princípio da teoria é que o Big Mac é feito com os mesmos ingredientes e quantidade de produtos em quase todos os lugares pesquisados. Se houvesse paridade, o preço de um Big Mac deveria ser o mesmo em todo o mundo em dólares. Por exemplo: se um sanduíche em determinado país for mais barato do que nos EUA, a moeda está desvalorizada em relação ao dólar. Caso contrário, se o sanduíche for mais caro que nos EUA, a moeda está valorizada.
O cálculo é feito pelo Preço do Big Mac no país dividido pelo preço do Big Mac nos EUA x taxa de câmbio Menos 1.
Os resultados divulgados pela revista em fevereiro de 2022 apontam que o real estava subvalorizado em 25,8% pela taxa de câmbio atual.

The Big Mac Index, officially the Big Mac Index, is an index calculated on the price of the Big Mac, from the fast food chain McDonald's, in more than one hundred countries. It was created in 1986 by The Economist to explain an economic concept called Purchasing Power Parity.
According to the Purchasing Power Parity concept, in the long run the foreign exchange market should adjust so that the value of one dollar is equivalent in any country. The principle of the theory is that the Big Mac is made with the same ingredients and amount of products in almost every place searched. If there were parity, the price of a Big Mac should be the same worldwide in dollars. For example, if a sandwich in a certain country is cheaper than in the US, the currency is devalued against the dollar. Otherwise, if the sandwich is more expensive than in the US, the currency is appreciated.
The calculation is done by the Big Mac Price in the country divided by the Big Mac price in the US x the exchange rate Minus 1.
The results released by the magazine in February 2022 show that the real was undervalued by 25.8% at the current exchange rate.
